The "European Youth Academy" handbook

The creation of the multicultural school project “ European Youth Academy“ is something very special: a pedagogical contribution to the political steps towards a united Europe!

The Youth Academy supports the development of an awareness of one’s own culture and a differentiated view of the „other“ cultures; special skills and the ability to act in intercultural relationships should be acquired. Different political and economic preconditions were experienced and hence better understanding in the discussion on a so-called neutral territory. The sustained intercultural encounters permit what might be called the „sampling“ of the different. At the European Youth Academy, young people learn today what they will need tomorrow for peaceful co-existence in democracy and prosperity. In the light of an increasingly multicultural society these new dimensions of learning will become even more necessary and more important than before.
